ELIZABETH H. BYRNES, CPT
Owner/Operator EHFITNESS NYC

Elizabeth, a native Austinite, spent 15 years working as a holistic-oriented personal trainer in New York City, before moving back to Austin in 2021. She is certified by the National Academy of Sports Medicine, with a wide range of education and experience.

Elizabeth's path was born out of a lifetime of physical activity, a desire to understand the human body, and to help others live healthier and happier lives. While on  her fitness industry journey,  Elizabeth was certified in nutrition, Schwinn cycling and group exercise. She began honing her restorative skills, however, when she realized her clients all suffered, at one time or another, from structural pain or injury, leading to life and health disruptions. She took courses in pre and post-natal training (Annette Lang), NASM stretch and release, and eventually came upon the Postural Restoration Institute and the accompanying subset of health and fitness professionals who view fitness and the body through the lens of the respiratory system and body repositioning.

Her method combines intuition, education, dedication, and bio-mechanics to help people from all walks of life achieve their health goals while tuning into the delicate balance that is their body. Elizabeth's specialty lies in understanding and changing the patterns of people's physical/musculoskeletal structures, breathing patterns and accompanying muscle imbalances, as well as their stress levels and reactivity.

Her sessions focus on making the body strong from the inside out - with breath work, strength work with weights and machines, and techniques by the Postural Restoration Institute to further support strengthening, healing, emotional health, and overall quality of life. She enjoys working with adults and the elderly who are looking to heal and move better in their daily lives.

Elizabeth meets with clients in person at Castle Hill Fitness in Austin, at the Independent Training Spot in NYC, and always virtually on Zoom!

In her spare time, Elizabeth works out to keep her body strong, balanced, and moving painlessly, enjoys as much music as time will allow, and has a happy Texas home with her husband and cat.
